I don’t normally talk about my daily life, but that’s in part because my life is usually very boring. However, I had a lot of excitement over the last week — rather too much excitement.

I got a hole in the hose that connects to the ice machine in the refrigerator. This caused a flood both beneath the frig and in the basement immediately below it. I think I used every bucket and towel in the house in an attempt to keep ahead of it. At the end, I did learn how to turn off the water in the entire house, and then how to turn off just the hose that connected to the frig.

Yay, that’s as close to handy as I’ve ever gotten!

As if that wasn’t enough, on Sunday night, the dog ran out of the house. The door that connects from the garage to the house doesn’t always close properly, so when the garage door opened, that door also opened, and the dog decided to go exploring. He is smarter than I feared, and soon came back to the yard, where I then bribed him inside with treats.

So everything ended well, but I don’t need that level of excitement in my life. Here’s hoping the next week is far more boring.
