So the last month has been very busy. Had the end of the semester and then took the elderly parents on vacation. We went to Oregon, northern California, and Washington State. The scenery was gorgeous, and national parks are always worth it. Crater Lake is amazing, even if there was 20 feet of snow in late May.

Less amazing: we went through 4 rental cars. The first broke down in the Red Woods, the second got a flat tire in the middle of nowhere in California (we got towed to what turned out to be one of the Bigfoot hotspots), the third needed maintenance and maybe could have made it but we were paranoid by that point, and the fourth finished the trip. So we mostly saw the side of the road and the rental car office.

Sunday, my mom had a medical emergency. It may have been a stroke. We still don’t know. She’s in intensive care and the doctors are running tests. So no writing updates for the time being.
